My husband and I have been asking that question since the show Tuesday, Did Vic Know?? You dont want to believe Vic would know or have put Shane up to it. Here is another twist, Maybe Ronnie knew because his reaction when he saw Lem was not what we expeceted either, I thought they would really be distraught when they saw Lem dead, yet they were all kind of stonefaced.
THis is what I was hoping just because Im such a big Kenny JOhsnon fan, that Lem isnt really dead and it was a set-up and he is going into witness protection and will show up in the last episode of season 11 (I know, sounds too much like a soap opera) Just wishful thinking
Maybe they will have KJ in some scenes where he screws w/ shane for killing him , in like a dream sequence or something

I wish there was a way to have KJ back on, but it just wouldn't work. Flashbacks kinda went out of vogue with the producers around the 2nd season. I think it would be jarring at this point. Same with dreams.

Absolutely no, Vic did not know Shane's smarmy little backup plan. There's no way.

I think it's safe to say Vic and Ronnie had no idea that Shane was going to do that. I don't think they know he did it ...yet. Loyal Lem, love ya Lem!!! Damn those writers! It didn't have to go down like this.It shouldn't have. God, I am in mourning.

I honestly don't think even Shane knew he was going to do that until Lem said, "I've got it all figured out." You can see the decision come cross Shane's face in that instant. Completely brilliant acting.

I don't think Vic knows. Ronnie MIGHT know. If you think about it, Ronnie has always been the "push-over" of the group. He's the one that never really puts up a fight when Vic and Shane decide to pull some shady shit. If Shane was to tell anyone about his plan, it would've been Ronnie. I can't believe we have to wait a year to see how this plays out! I think Shane knew he was going to do it before he went out there. No way would he just happen to have a grenade in his truck waiting for an oppurtune moment. Shane is worried about covering his ass to provide for Jackson and the one in the oven.

Agreed, I do beleive that Ronnie and Shane both planned this, knowing who ever got away from the tail first would do in Lem.

Completely brilliant acting. I'll go along with that. I was thinking today, it didn't seem premeditated. At least, I really hope not. Doing it with a grenade, that they had just made a bust on, seemed a bit odd to me.

Things that will get Shane caught:
Lem's window was down. Why would he roll down the window for a stranger?
The sandwich. I'm sure there are remains of the sandwich in the car. Who bought it and from where?
Truck tracks in the dirt. Unless Vic and Kav wrestled all over them.
Shane had no tail. IAD will know taht - Shane could tell Vic he was sure someone was on him, I guess.
Shit -- this is kinda weak; maybe he'll actually get away with it. DAMN YOU SHANE!

I'd bet everything that Vic had no idea. Just watched it again on FX... when Shane pulls up, after he murdered Lem... you can just tell the way Vic looked at Shane that it crossed his mind that moment that he did something. You can tell Shane had been crying... I don't know, it was just the way Vic kept looking at him. Even at the scene, he looks at Shane, then Shane looks away. I think he knows now... maybe doesn't want to believe... but I really think he knows Shane killed him. Vic still thought Lem wouldn't turn on them. He called bullshit, he trusted him til the end.
Damn, I can't wait til January! Where are all the damn spoilers? lol

I do not think Shane took Lem there to kill him but when Lem said he was not going back to Mexico that's when he decided to kill him.
No way did Vic know what Shane was planning. I feel sorry for Shane when Vic finds out.

yep lemgirl, i'm with you on that. Shane is trying to convince him to go to Mexico, to go away from them so he wouldn't be a "threat" for the team no more... i'm quite sure Vic would never believe something like that! but i think lovely Dutchboy can!

I don't think Shane gives Dutchboy much credit at all. But he's a brilliant investigator, he even figured out the strike team robbed the money train but didn't have the evidence to prove it.

Hey persineatre.... welcome.
What do you mean, though? 'Hells yeah' that vic knew about Shane's plan (the thread topic)? Or are you commenting on what lemgirl said about Dutch (post above yours)?
