Anyone ever stopped to wonder why Kav never really tried to win Claudette?
Think about it: 1) She's black 2) She's smart 3) She's got dirt on Vic 4) She really doesn't like Aceveda, especially since he stole her ideas in s3, causing her to lose the shot at being captain 5) She's more into doing the right thing than the easy thing
It seems that he would've tried to get her on his side.
If I recall correctly, she didn't really seem to like him setting up shop in the Barn.
I haven't gotten through S5 in a while...so maybe someone has a fresher memory than me.

Kav didn't follow Antwon's advice to go after Shane either. That was another mistake on his part.

Kav's a pretty stubborn fella. He probably has in his mind, a plan formulated to get the job done. And when things go to shit we get classic moments like the "pissing speech". Maybe he felt Claudette would be a threat to his ideas, seeing she is a rather strong character.......Plus she was sick a lot too.

Claudette may have dirt on Vic but she had no evidence. She could have easily gone to IAD or Lanie in Season 2 when Armadillo was around but I think chose not to for a few reasons.
She's still loyal to the precinct and her "brother cops" but only bumped heads with Vic because Vic had the answers to her statutory rape case, not because Vic was dealing with Tio. When it comes down to it, Claudette won't rat out another cop. She didn't rat Vic out to Kavanaugh or Lanie.

I agree in that her personality was probably too strong and didn't want to get into one more thing that would tie up his time. He probably thought he had enough and didn't "need" her. Now that she is Captain though, he could very well go to her. Would be interesting to see what she does if she is asked. She doens't like rattinng out other cops but is also a stickler for doing the right thing (ie the prosecutor who was high and her crusade to get those cases revisited).

claudette hated the fact that kavanaugh was harassing the strike team and she made it known to the assistant chief by stating that its bringing down company morale she wanted him out of there as much as anyone else she wouldnt of partnered up with Kavanaugh even if it was going to shut the strike team down her loyalties stayed in the barn not with Internal Affairs.
