Armadillo -Raping 2 people that we know of. One of them while he was a kid and the other was a kid. -Lighting 3 people on fire. -Having his brother killed so that he couldn't be used as leverage. -Buring Ronnie's face.

I used to think that Margos was the worst, but he personified mystery and danger. You just never knew about him. You just knew not to mess with him...ever. Or you would end up one bloody mess minus feet.
My thinking has changed though on who was the worst. Armadillo clearly had no particular M.O. with the exception of the dove tat he would leave on his rape victims. Oh, and the tires he would leave around the necks of certain burn victims. He was relentless in his mission to snuff you out if you got on his green lit list and he didn't care how. If you had a friend, he would use that person as a calling card to let you know he was on his way in a particularly gruesome manner. He was one mean MO FO! I really liked TIO. I keep thinking about how he put him on the phone with Vic before he lit the tire around his neck...Damn brutal.

^ well explained icy! I voted for Armadillo as well. Mean bastard. The fact that he had NO problem raping a child gave him his own spot in Hell (though Antwon went as far as to murdering one)... but also, Vic almost gave himself up, the other "villains" never came as close to bringing down Vic Mackey. But of course, Armadillo has a special place on my shit list for the <ahem> obvious.

I went with Margos, he was brutal and one of the best murders done on the first season was him quietly capping that armenian right as cops were breakign down the door, just for getting a bump while he was cutting out the dope hehe.
On a side note, Armadillo did do some vicious shit... but this poll asks who was the badass, and well... Armadillo was a scared little bitch, like so many of the "constitution carrying" killers that I supervise in the penitentiary. They can do some bad shit, like raping an 11 year old girl, but without his bangers on his side, he wouldn't of had the nuts do diddly.

I voted Antwon Mitchell, He might not be the most brutal or sick villiian, but unlike the others he is still a threat. Vic or someone goes to jail, they are dead. He also had a crew that seems more loyal to him than the other villians did, someone who can have that many people do things to you on a whim is pretty scary.

I would have agreed with some of the other posters here if the question was who was the most repugnant, but "badass" seems to imply a certain degree of success. Antoine Mitchell may be jailed, but he's still got the potential to put everyone's jewels in a vise. He's still in the game.

I voted for Armadillo, he was a pretty bad villian. Of course I think the actor who plays him is hot.

I'm sure this will be seen by some as flame-bait, but I am being sincere, honest, and serious (and not trying to pick a fight). I think VIC MACKEY is the baddest villian on The Shield. This is what makes this show so addictive to watch. We see a lot of good in Vic, to the point where we find often ourselves rooting for him. But at the end of the day, after careful analysis, he is one bad bad dude. None of us would "like him" much if he was a real person and we ran across him in real life. As Chiklis himself has stated, Vic is both the protagonist and the antagonist of the show, all in one person. Only other character with such rich dual personalities that immediately comes to mind for me is Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader when viewed over the entire arc of the 6-movie Star Wars series.
Think about it. Vic is personally responsible for the cold-blooded murder of one cop. Circumstantially responsible for the murder of another cop. Responsible for countless other killings, beatings, and other highly illegal activities that would put any other "real" cop in a state pen for life (or the duration of his death penalty appeals process).
But what is really telling is how he is at least linked, in some way, to nearly every bad thing that happens to nearly every major character on the show. (Please feel free to add to or correct this list) ...
Lem - rather obvious that Vic bears a huge amount of responsibility for his death, even though he is not the one who ultimately tossed the grenade
Shane - by putting Shane in the same room when he murdered Terry, Vic set the stage for Shane's violent spiral into his own evilness. Think back to episode 1.2 and how despondent Shane was "We killed a cop" he says, and Vic says "Don't mention it again". Vic made Shane what he has become.
Ronnie - his face burning was a direct retaliation for the face burn that Vic gave Armadillo in Season 2
Aceveda - If Vic had not been so desperately covering up both the Money Train marked cash AND the fact that he so stupidly used some of the marked bills in the ill-fated MP5 buy, then Aceveda never would have encountered Juan Lozano or the other punk in the infamous rape scene. Aceveda's political aspirations have brought a lot of bad on his charater himself, but his "ultimate pain" was nearly a direct result of Vic's actions
Danny - fired at end of Season 2 after being blamed for the Armadillo killing (not checking for shivs in the lockup) was a result of needing Armadillo killed to save Vic's ass. Not to mention her out-of-wedlock child.
Julian - pressured Julian about his homosexuality as a way convince him to NOT report the stolen drugs from Season 1. Ultimately led to further worsening of Julian's pysche regarding his sexuality and to his ostracism from The Barn and "blanket party" beating.
Dutch - constant ridicule has weakened Dutch's reputation in The Barn and lessened the effectiveness of someone who is a damn fine detective and better interrogator than anyone on the Strike Team
Claudette - Vic's insider shenanigan's with Aceveda in Seasons 2 and 3 pushed Claudette's moralistic tendencies to the boiling point that temporarily cost her the captain's job.
Corrine and the kids - as much as he seems to love them, Vic will never win any husband or father awards. His actions have ultimately put his family in harm's way more often than anyone deserves.
Connie - Sure Vic helped this crack whore with twenties for soup and a hardcore detox. But he also USED Connie and put her in the situation that ultimately cost her life.
Kavanaugh - here was a guy who honestly was trying to do good. Despite what so many felt about this character, he was - in reality - the GOOD GUY. But after going toe-to-toe with Vic for a whole season, he slipped into compromised morality (much like Shane and Aceveda).

hey, namin the MAC-MAN as a villain is FLAMING!!! hahaa...
naa, the fact is that mackey IS the ultimate villain, but he's the epicenter of everything so he is untouchable.....yeeea ..
as for the villains aka - the gangters, - the bangers, - the 1-9ners, bizlats, torrucos, I.A.D, armenians, I'd say that REZIAN will be the ultimate villain of all times yeeea, just need to see in "spanish practices" 6x10, how he tells shane the rules of their deal , and If shane misses ONE shipment of illegal stuff, or shane skips ONE tip that might compromise bizness.............................
....first the CHILDREN , then the WIVES, and then the MONEY TRAIN robbers, yeeea!!! I have back-chillings everytime I watch that scene....
so ....REZIAN is my guy....yeeeaeea!!!!
