Katey Sagal had an uncredited role on The Shield, playing Ben Gilroy's widow, Nancy Gilroy, in the Season 4 episode, "Grave." ======================================= Her latest endeavor, a film titled "I'm Reed Fish," is currently in post production, and is slated for release in 2006. Katey plays the character of Maureen in this movie; the first feature film to be directed by Zackary Adler. ======================================= For over a decade actress/singer Katey Sagal would become synonymous with the vulgar, brazen, undomesticated "Peg Bundy" TV persona on "Married...with Children." Somehow she managed to achieve the impossible by completely sidestepping the damaging stereotype with her portrayal of a much more responsible parent in her latest sitcom "Eight Simple Rules." Co-starring the late John Ritter until his sudden passing in 2003, Katey valiantly moved front-and-center with successful results. Born Catherine Louise Sagal in 1954, her father was Boris Sagal, the noted TV and sometime film director (1965's "Girl Happy" with Elvis Presley was one.) He died tragically on May 22, 1981, while on the set for "World War III," when he accidentally walked into a helicopter rear rotor. Katey's mother, Sara Zwilling, was a director and singer who died earlier in 1975 at the age of 47 from heart disease. A singer/songwriter who began performing by age 5, Katey studied voice and acting at the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, CA. A singing waitress during her "salad" years, she started up with a band "The Group with no Name" and then caught a break after hooking up with Gene Simmons and his 70s rock band Kiss. She went on to become a backup recording singer for Simmons and other established stars, including Etta James and Tanya Tucker. Katey also performed live backup with Bette Midler as one of the "Harlettes" in Bette's wildly avante garde stage shows during the late 70s and early 80s. After that, Katey started focusing on TV and film. In 1985, she was spotted while performing on stage in a musical by talent agents, who subsequently cast her as Mary Tyler Moore's feisty co-worker, Jo Tucker, in "Mary," a short-lived comedy series. Her work on "Mary" helped her to get "Married... with Children" and the rest is history. In an attempt to distance herself from the Peg Bundy image, Katey has over the years purposely turned to TV movies, appearing in such fare as 1998's "Chance of a Lifetime," a charming romantic comedy that also co-starred John Ritter, and 1999's "God's New Plan," a tearjerker in which she played a dying mom. Her first marriage to bass player Freddie Beckmeyer ended in divorce after three years. A second to Jack White, who was involved in the "Mighty Ducks" hockey film series as both actor and adviser, also ended in divorce. Katy Sagal's Bio======================================= Katey is the voice of Taranga Leela on Futurama======================================= Posted 10/5/2004 8:32 AM Katey Sagal gets married By Chris Pizzello, AP LOS ANGELES (AP) — Katey Sagal, television's symbol of the crass housewife in her role as Peg Bundy on Married ... With Children, has married again. Sagal, 47, married Kurt Sutter, 42, in a private ceremony Saturday at their suburban Los Feliz home, publicist Lisa Kasteler said Monday. The bride wore a Reem Acra wedding gown and the groom wore a Prada suit, Kasteler said. It was the third marriage for Sagal, who has a daughter and son from her 1993 marriage to Jack White. Sutter is a writer for The Shield.Cast members from Sagal's ABC sitcom Eight Simple Rules, including Kaley Cuoco and Amy Davidson, and Ed O'Neill, who played her Married ... With Children husband, Al Bundy, attended the reception. "It was lovely," Kasteler said. Sagal received four Golden Globe nominations for her role as Peg Bundy on Married ... With Children, which ran from 1987-97. From USA Today======================================= 2005 SAG Awards: A simply beautiful lady. E

Mrs. Margos - Katey Sagal (Nancy Gilroy) - had a big part on episode 3 of Lost playing Locke's pre-crash girlfriend - I don't think that back story is quite finished so she'll probably be back before the season ends Thanks for bringing this up, jwc! ======================================= ~Article~ Peggy Bundy in LOST!September 20, 2005: ABC continues to surprise me when it comes to the certified hit [according to the 2005 Emmy Awards] television series LOST. For the final episode of last season, the show quickly introduces Michelle Rodriguez [SWAT, Blue Crush] and sets up the possibility of some type of love triangle, or should I say ménage à trois', for next season. I first thought 'wow', Rodriguez is one of those faces that most should recognize, but not place a specific origin or character on; making her a perfect fit for the show. But now ABC has gone and done one better, they have gone and added Peggy Bundy to the list of castaways; Al must have flew out of the back of the plane. Katey Sagal in LOST Known by most only for her role as Peggy Bundy in the hit television series Married... with Children, Katey Sagal will join the cast of LOST to help continue the story for the second season. <snip> Go to canmag.com for the complete article.

Umm... me being the "Kateyholic" here...don't mind the other corrections:) Katey was born January 19,1956. She turns 50 this year. Also, she is set to be in another movie: THREE WISE GUYS (USA) - The original holiday movie, which was previously set to bow on Sunday, November 20, has been postponed until December. Tom Arnold, Judd Nelson, Katey Sagal and Nick Turturro star in the project, about gun-toting gangsters chasing a mother-to-be across the desert. and yes,she is on Lost as of now... I heard Katey Sagal is going to guest star on Lost? Is this true? It is true, 100 percent. [It's for] at least one episode, but hopefully more. We'll see. She plays an iconic character in the mythology of one of the other character's stories. Are you a Katey Sagal fan? I am. I loved Married...with Children, obviously, when I was much younger, but I also think that just as a dramatic actor, she's really good. She's one of those actresses whom you know primarily from sitcom, but then you look at her tape, and she has all these amazing dramatic roles. She pops up on all these shows like The Shield and all that, and you go Wow! She's amazing. *from one of the directors...* Katey has dyed her hair for the role...she has gone blonde...

Katey sure looks fine at fifty! It really is true, for you youngsters who wouldn't know; forty is the new thirty and fifty is the new forty, and sixty is the new fifty and... well, you get the idea, right??
"Desperate Housewives" has really brought the older woman to the forefront as the saucy, sexy vixens they are! Experienced women, with intelligence and money, who know what they want in bed and out. Yes! I'll take one of those over a silly, uncertain, inexperienced and career-less twenty year old anyday.

Futurama may see new life on FOX
LOS ANGELES, CA, United States (UPI) -- Fox TV`s Emmy-award winning cartoon series 'Futurama' may not be history after all, it was reported Wednesday.
Talks are reportedly under way at 20th Century Fox to revive the animated series set in the next millennium, Daily Variety reported.
The final original episode aired in August 2003, but like 'Family Guy,' it found new life on DVD as well as in reruns on the Cartoon Network.
In fact, the reruns have become so popular, Comedy Central has snatched the rights to them starting in 2008, Variety said.
'Futurama' -- from 'The Simpsons' Matt Groening and David X. Cohen -- won three Emmys in five seasons, including best animated series in 2002.
Fox brought back the canceled 'Family Guy' into its Sunday night lineup, so such a revival would not be unprecedented, Variety noted.
However, before anything could happen with 'Futurama,' Fox has to secure deals with its production team as well as voice stars Billy West, Katey Sagal and John DiMaggio.

She also is coming back for another episode of Lost: Episode 13 February 1,2006
Locke finds trouble walking while exploring the island; Eko and Sawyer find more than what they are looking for; and Ana-Lucia solves an old mystery.
Also, there is the revelation on what happened to Helen and how Locke became paralyzed. Both events are connected. Also, Eko and Sawyer find a very badly injured Cindy in the jungle while searching for the black horse. While walking the beach, Ana-Lucia notices the cable, just like Sayid and Hurley, and follows it into the water to find an underwater hatch.

Katey Sagal has entertained audiences in a variety of dramatic and comedic roles throughout her career. She recently wrapped her parts in the independent film I'm Reed Fish and the tele-film 3 Wise Guys, and appeared as "Helen" on the television phenomenon Lost. Most recently, Sagal starred in the ABC series 8 Simple Rules ... , the NBC series Tucker, the television movie God's New Plan and as the voice of Leela, a beautiful one-eyed alien, in the animated series Futurama.
