Without question, the final montage.
Glenn Close breaking down, alone in a bare house was about as choked up as I've ever been watching TV. I had tears streaming down my face, because, I realized that somone else "gets it", even if it's a writer and an actor. Having been an NCO in the Army, and, a project manager after I got out, I SO empathize with the consequences of being a leader. Right, or wrong....You are ALWAYS alone. That's why you're in front. The emotional toll is brutal, and, that moment was so well written, juxtaposed with the euphoria of the team getting back together, with Vic smileing like a proud dad....Everything is "ok" again. Dutch even seems to have found a hard edged groove and, is welcome amongst the rest of the warrior caste.
Then, you get the IA guy slideing in and out....And you know everything is *NOT* ok.
My first time viewing that episode, I watched the final montage about 20 times in a row. Other than the final montage in "Dominoes Falling" I've never been so moved by a TV moment.

The season opener with Monica saying "The dog had a piece Roy, he was gonna use it." and that whole scene. Definitely Vic letting the dog bite the guy's testicle off, the self-exploding Russian. All the ones you guys named. One that wasn't mentioned was when Monica gave up Aceveda's old office to the new gang unit she got together because as she put it ~ "I would rather be down here with the troops". I was the same way when I was a supervisor at UPS. My guys were my equals as far as I was concerned. I also loved the last scene with Monica and Vic.

While re-watching the season with a buddy of mine, I've found that one of my favorite moments was the end of Cut Throat - the Vic/Shane showdown. The first time I saw it, it was powerful, emotional, and gut-wrenching...and I didn't know where they were going to go. It was awesome. thats gotta be mine too. also when antwon told shane to kill vic, at the time i didn't if he was gonna or not

Favorite moments:
1. Vic/Shane showdown. 2. Reuniting of the strike team 3. Antwon killing Angie ( I was actually very upset by that.) 4. Vic telling aceveda that he never was a cop. ( loved that so stinkin much) 5. Dutch's hungry like the wolf 6.And one of my most favorite Shane lines ever " eatin aint cheatin". I laughed for about 5 mins after that. Classic.

I LOVED THAT SHOWDOWN WITH SHANE AND VIC, IT WAS INTENSE. I LOVED IT WHEN VIC CAME OUT THE CAR WITH HIS PISTOL AIMED AT SHANE. THAT WAS SO BADASS. ALSO IN THE SEASON FINALE WHEN THE STRIKE TEAM ARE IN THE BAR. KNOWING THAT IAD WAS ON TO THE STRIKE TEAM. U COULD FEEL IN IN YOUR HEART THAT SUMTHIN BAD WAS GONNA HAPPEN.

One of my favorite moments of Season 4, that hasn't been mentioned by anyone as of yet, is actually the scene between Vic and Emolia somewhere around the 3/4 mark or so of 4x11 A Thousand Deaths. Chiklis plays that scene so well, as you completely comprehend just how "blind" Vic becomes to a certain kind of victimized woman, on top of which she has a kid, like Connie before her, who, like Vic's two autistic children, has developmental problems. I already loved that scene the night the episode aired, but considering the betrayal on Emolia's part, her wonderfully laced role in the series since that episode, culminating in Kavanaugh's professional demise early in Season 6, it sticks out today like a real sore thumb.
Another, Lem telling Army in the same episode to get out of the Strike Team because at the end of the day, they're going to get themselves into a big s*** storm and there's nothing they can do about it; he's totally resigned to their fate, and more importantly, as he said in the previous episode--"Maybe this is who we are." Again, considering just what kind road that character traveled on, ending in 5x11, well, needless to say, it's tragic.

acc, great point about Vic's soft spot for victimized women and children. I've wondered the need of the earlier plot about Vic helping the lady who ran the battered women's shelter (other than him getting laid) in Season 3, I think. It now seems clear that storyline was laying the ground work for Vic's betrayal by a desperate woman he was trying to help.

I always saw Emolia as analogous to Connie, and thought that the reason Vic trusted Emolia so much was that he still felt guilt over what happened to Connie.
The thing with the woman from the battered woman's shelter fits as well though.

Thanks, n00b, and I think you're right (though the battered woman shelter lady named Emma was in Season 2).
Vic seemed to become even more attracted and drawn to Lauren, aka the dog lady, from Season 3, when he learned her boyfriend was apparently mentally unstable.
I agee, electroshockblue.
I'll always remember some guy telling some others on another forum during the early part of Season 4 that those who didn't think Anthony Anderson could play his role convincingly to wait for the last scene of 4x05 Tar Baby, and he was right, Strike Team 4 Life.

i liked when vic said to those cops in the car, GET THAT LIGTH OUTTA MY FACE, IM A COP, something like that,
that part and him walking you knew something was bugging him affecting him, the whole thing with shane,
and the scenes with antwon and rawlings, when she told him about his kid,
and shane and antwon,
anthony anderson might never get the credit he deserved for playing that role so well

My two favorite moments are both lines:
Antwon to Shane: "From now on when I say suck my dick, you say, want me to lick your balls daddy?"
and
Shane to Antwon: "At the end of the day, you're just another n*gger with a faggot n*gger son."
I, like others, also love the ending of season 4 with everyone celebrating in the bar. I like it even moreso now that we've seen how everyone ends up since it is the last time wed see the entire barn happy together.
