Does anyone else have a problem with Sony releasing Season 6 and 7 of the Shield in widescreen format? I mean the episodes were aired in full screen format and this is the way they were intended to be viewed. The Fox releases of Seasons 1-5 were in full screen so why in the world did Sony release theirs in widescreen?

I love seeing it in widescreen. One could argue that since it was filmed in widescreen that THAT'S the way it was intended to be viewed and shame on FX for airing it in fullscreen in the first place.

Shame on FX is right! Even worse, FXHD doesn't even air it in widescreen! That's just a bunch of caca-duki!!!! I re-bought Seasons 1-5 from Sony just to have the whole set in widescreen and it is 100% better!

The show was filmed in widescreen but edited in full screen and Shawn Ryan has said that full screen was the way he intended it to be viewed to preserve the documentary feel of it. It shouldn't be shame on FX. It should be shame on Sony for releasing these last two seasons on widescreen.

ALL HAIL THE WIDESCREEN!!!!! While I love the show in widescreen, and I'll always choose that format; it's obvious the show was made to be shown in 4:3.... I've noticed some things that you aren't supposed to see in the frame on the widescreen episodes that you don't see in the fullscreen ones. I've noticed two instances of extreme ADR, where Dutch is on the side of the screen not talking, but you hear his voice. However, watching the show on my HDTV, I can't ever go back to the fullscreen version. I love it in widescreen, and, to me, it's better that way overall.... So I'm with E on this one.... Plus, the fullscreen seasons just pissed me off with random widescreen episodes (Season 4). There's something to be said for consistency. My widescreen sets make it that way. PS. I'm definitely getting the "Complete Series" boxset! No need for The Shield on Blu Ray. 16mm wouldn't look much different in HD....
