Hello all, I'm an old fan, new member from The Netherlands.
Since watching The Shield I never saw a Dutch police show anymore because I could see how bad and boring they all are.
I'm a fan of The Shield because it's unique in a lot of different ways (acting, camera, story, more) and I think the rest of the world who never saw this show should see it too.

Weldome mysteryquest. At first I thought your post was about a new person playing Dutch, ha. Great to have you. How many seasons have you seen?

Lol, yeah, Dutch affilation was a little attention joke really. But The Shield has something with Dutch things, we have Detective Wagenbach and the Barn from the Pilot is quoted as old Spanish/Dutch style. Noted something else in the series too, but can't remember that. When I'll have all the DVDs I certainly come back at that.
Seen all seasons, just waiting for the complete DVD set to show up. Think one of the things that makes The Shield so cool is everything around it. Watching all the DVD commentaries (got season 1 - 3 now) gives The Shield an extra feeling. Mainly the first episode where the Strike Team is giving comments. Even though I know The Shield is just fake when you listen to those guys and watch that episode you think "o this is all fake, great job done acting".
