The easy choice if Vic (Michael Chiklis) he's an amazing actor and has been since his days on the Commish. Hell I even remember the episode of Seinfeld MC was in...it involved a hooker. But MC has the resume and it pretty much goes without saying...he's a top notch lead guy and The Shield showed how great he really is.
I think Shane (Walton Goggins) became an amazing character that developed not only progressively, but to an extent where he was so great you loved and hated him and battled with yourself as to how you feel about him. That's just great acting.
Dutch (Jay Karnes) came a long way as well. And through all of his bumblings, he played the part of a great detective amazingly. I will say, however, that Claudette (CCH Pounder) was key to Dutch's character. They fed each other beautifully. In that show....one couldn't have been great without the other. Jay Karnes didn't impress me in Sons Of Anarchy, albeit, a small role....I wasn't sold.
I will always love the show and the characters and hope they NEVER revise it, in any way. It's over....leave it where it was and be happy we had a show that phenomenal in our lifetime

Chiklis is a great actor...not to employ an overused cliche...hands down the guy is great at his craft...did he speak at all in the last 10 minutes of the show?...yet it was still compelling.
CCH & Walton are also great actors...for this season all three shined, very brightly

Chicklis' work on this season was sensational along with Goggins, CCH Pounder and Jay Karnes. David Rees Snell also did great. But those four actors above deserve most of the credit - Chicklis and Pounder pulled it off brilliantly in that interrogation scene. It's one of my favourite scenes besides Shane's suicide and Ronnie's arrest. If it's anyone, though, it's Goggins and Chicklis - the way they tackled their characters with their impending scenes.. I hope to aspire to be an actor of that caliber someday.

Walton Goggins! By far! I actually found myself empathetic with Shane's decision to annihilate his family. Never would've thought I would find myself understanding the family annihilator type.

i liked the character...michael is a good actor, but he tended to overact sometimes (in my opinion!) ....i love walton goggins--as far as actors go, he and cch and jay karnes were the best actors of the show..... to me they even performed better than the two oscar winners who graced the show in seasons four and five.
although my favorite characters in the show were ronnie and lem, and of course they were what they were because of the actors, david and kenny. i enjoy their off screen personalities as well, from what ive seen and read of them. they may not be prolific actors or whatever, but theyre really good.

i dont care what anybody has to say about david rees snell....he's a good actor. with the material he had to work with, he did very well. as a fan, im very proud of him, especially for season seven. even my sister, who doesnt like him (character wise) had to admit the actor was really good. i made her watch the finale with me, and we just loved the last few scenes. she loved "the redneck" (her words not mine), but said "ronnie" (she meant davide) was really good in the last episode.

Besides the obvious 4 Michael Chiklis Walton Goggins Kenneth Johnson and David Rees Snell
My favorite guest appearances were Forest Whitaker and Anthony Anderson, they were really awesome but overall the acting was on a high level, also thanks to the producers Shawn Ryan, Scott Brazil, Glenn Mazzara
