Vic sold out Ronnie! How many Vic fans are left out there now? I still love him. I love them all. I feel like I'm going to lose my family next week. I seriously need some medication. Valium would be good....

Screw everybody else, Vic needs to get away with it all!!!!!!! I said it before, I'll say it again. The show is about Vic, and thats all that matters in the end to me. Sure It would have been better if he did not screw Ronnie over, but in the end, it doesn't really matter. I will be a Vic enabler forever.

^ LOL...true to the end. You gotta respect that. I really don't know how I feel about Vic anymore. I love him. I hate him. He is evil, but that is what I kinda liked about him.
To get back on topic, I will probably need some ambien after the finale because if I had trouble sleeping last night, I know I will be up all night next tuesday...lol..

i will truly cry after the final credits and im not a crying person at all. It is just a great show and it is truly in your face, real gritty police drama and havin the most interesting character on it. Vic Mackey is that badass that all of us have deep inside of them. We live through every moment he reacts. He is a great character and Michael Chiklis played him brillant. I love the shows writing, acting and storylines. I will really miss it and Nov 25th will be very emotional for me, I even requested a day off work to spend the whole day, patiently waiting til ten. THERE WILL BE NO OTHER SHOW LIKE THE SHIELD.

I'm VERY sad about the ending. Sort of like when I have a favorite author and realize that I've read his/her last book and I'll never have another new one to sit down with.
I'll probably watch the DVDs until I wear them out.
I do think of "The Shield" as literature on TV, so I know I'll probably have to go to something else literary to get the same satisfaction. Most, if not all, TV shows won't cut it.

The Shield will die per say as long as we talk about it and watch the dvds and come here to post, which I still plan on doing.
That being said, I'll probably be numb after the show and will take a few days for it to wear off.........Will I still miss the show? Of course.......
I thought I'd feel the same way about the Sopranos because I put a lot of viewing time into the show and when the end came, I was like, "Meh". People either liked the way it ended or didn't. The answer I once gave a co worker when they asked m eabout it was this:
"In Pulp Fiction, everyone kept asking Quentin Tarrutino what was in the briefcase, thinking he'd spill it finally. His answer was this: Whatever the person thinks is in the briefcase IS in the briefcase.""
Same thing with the Sopranos ending.....
However, I don't see Shawn Ryan pulling a David Chase on us because he's already had a plan from Day 1 on how to end it.....
Ok, enough rambling here for now....

Most, if not all, TV shows won't cut it. Best advice I can give you is to try the best works of Cormac McCarthy. I am by no means an "avid" reader, though I can get sucked quite deep into great literature . This must be my definition of great literatore; not my English teacher's definition or Oprah's definition or anyone else's. In fact, I shied away from "The Road" for a while because Oprah made a big deal of it. But "The Road" is simply the best work of fiction - including "The Shield" - that I have encountered in at least 10 years. And "No Country for Old Men" is also a great read. I LOVED the movie, but the book is better. Beyond that, I don't know how to help you fill the gap. I'm going to try to throw myself back into work and into raising my son upon his Dec. 8 arrival.

I haven't read "The Road," but I'll certainly take your recommendation. Thanks.

Now that it's over, I don't feel nearly as badly as I thought I would. I'm at peace with the story.

Same. I've rewatched scenes of the final episode ever since it happened. I could rewatch that episode over and over..
My recommendation is to try find another series: I recently downloaded 'The Wire' in it's first season to try and find somewhat of a replacement. Since Sons of Anarchy is over for the time being, it'll be hard to find something just as gripping. I guess I'm in limbo ;D

I feel the same way...I'm just glad that I've been lucky enough to survive the waits in between to see the entire Shield saga as Shawn Ryan wanted us to see it! Being able to see any episode whenever I Like, is going to be my ongoing treatment for my appetite(Shield withdrawal) for excellent TV storytelling/acting. Thanks to all involved with the ShieldRap for the years of shared bliss with this show.

According to "Most Evil," we won't cross the line into needing professional help until we think that "The Shield" is real and are unable to notice that we don't live in Farmington.
Don't I pass the Barn on my way to work?? Shhhh..........don't tell people......shhhh........they might find out the real you. (bnyrabbit says to herself.)
Ok, enough creepiness.
Tuesday nights SUCK now!!!
