Probably nobody. The Shield: the ultimate exercise in nihilism and despair! Bwahahaha... Lol. Well, even though I absolutely love the show, I think as a fan I will be happy about it, to get closure with the show and be released from my addiction.

Asceveda could end up happy *if* he winds up winning mayor without having inside help from Beltran or any of the cartel. If Assinvader winds up mayor and has to worry about paying back a never ending debt to Beltran or the cartel, what kind of win would that be?
I also fully believe that Mara will wind up being collateral damage. I can't imagine SR or any of the writers having anyone just out right kill her, but how many of us saw Terry Crowley's death coming in the final minutes of S1E1? The shock and awe factor has always been there and on one hand, I can't see TPTB doing it, but on the other, I can.

After last night's episode it's looking slimmer and slimmer that anyone will end up happy. But out of the major players (Danny and Julian haven't been relevant in forever), the only ones who could have a happy ending are Dutch and Aceveda.
It's obvious Vic, Shane, Mara and Ronnie won't get happiness. Claudette falling apart makes me think that she won't end up happy. Corrine may end up semi-happy (Vic out of her life) but it will only add to her greater misery. Dutch may get the satisfaction of catching/killing Lloyd and a possible hand in bringing down Vic. He can just as easily end up miserable if something happens to Claudette or the Lloyd situation unravels (which could very well happen). Aceveda on the other hand has the least collateral damage headed his way. As long as Vic and ICE bring Beltran down, Aceveda has a clear path to being mayor. With Beltran arrested and Vic dead/in Mexico, there would be no one left to stop Aceveda.
I honestly think that he's the most likely of them all to get what he wants. In the past, he's found a way to turn every bad situation in his favor (even better than Vic sometimes) and here he doesn't even have to do much, just let Vic and Beltran take care of each other.

OMG...im not going to spoil this mornings episode but...half my prophecy came true...now to fulfill the 2nd half. Yes gang banger. what im rooting for it pure evil but vic mackey is a cop with a badge and for a tv show to glorify dirty cops is bad principles...plus im a big beleiver of karma. throughout history, ppl that commit evil things like kings and generals, the love ones always faces the burdens like that king from braveheart...hes so evil but he got a gay son who got hot pokers shoved up his ass when the evil king died.

can the mods make this thread into a poll of some kind? like mark which charactesr will be happy at the end and then list them all? or which will be alive at the end? or something along those lines. I'd be interested to see statistics related to all these theories and feelings.

I seriously doubt Aceveda will end up happy. Vic's confession screws him almost as much as it screws Ronnie. Vi dished enough out where anyone involved with him will be very unhappy for some time to come.
