My gut reaction is that Vic is not going to die. He may end up a broken man, suffering a fate worse than death, but not dead. GOD I CAN'T WAIT TO FIND OUT IF I'M WRONG OR NOT!!!!!!!1

agreed!
death might be too good for vic after the things he's done...might be letting him off too easy. IMO i say he's gonna be on the run somewhere for something we haven't even seen him do yet ( i think his worst is yet to come). left all alone with no badge, no family, no friends, and no money...well maybe some money.

Yes, to repeat myself, I do believe Vic will survive, in bodily form, but he will suffer a fate worse than death.

Did anyone think it could be foreshadowing Vic's ending when Ronnie told Claudette "a bullet would be too good for him" while talking about Shane?
Maybe that's a hint from the writers that a bullet is too good for Vic?
Or yet another red herring?
Wow I'm going to miss this show

I think Vic dies (as I said in the thread I made). I'm still not sure who does it or how but I just can't see him going to jial or accepting anything but death or success.
Although, him taking the 'Lem Ticket to Mexico' would be an ironic ending to the show.

I think Vic will die; it should be an ugly, brutal death as well.

What happened to all the Vic enablers? Come on, I'm still with him. He needs to get away with it all, and land as an ICE officer!

Metaphorically, it seems like Mexico is The Shield's version of Hell, with disgraced, cornered and doomed characters fleeing to that last resting place of fugitives like thieves in the night. So, I have long believed this was a strong probability for Vic, and perhaps, the entire, destroyed Strike Team, too.

So, I have long believed this was a strong probability for Vic, and perhaps, the entire, destroyed Strike Team, too. Has anyone considered that Vic already has been living in his own private hell since the final scene of Season 1? Every year, things get worse and worse for him. He's constantly having to cover up one transgression while worrying about the next "sin" being revealed. Sure, he's kept his badge until now; he's kept his family close enough until now. He's had the momentary joy of seeing the money train cash to end Season 2; he's had the momentary joy of the Strike Team back together again for that fleeting moment to end Season 4; But has his life really been all that "wonderful" since that scene of him wrecking the kitchen "Hulk-style" to end Season 1? Even the "happy" moment of discovering the blackmail box at end of Season 6 was only another temporary absolution that quickly led into its own new kind of hell. Perhaps death is what Vic "deserves" (still hang EVERYTHING about the ending on CCH Pounder's quote) but also what he "needs". Perhaps Vic has somehow "earned" a deliverance from the decay of his mortal life? Could death be what best for "society" as well as what's best for Vic Mackey? Does anyone still see the possibility of him eating a bullet from his own gun? Anyway, I'm just brain storming here. Feel free to add on ....

I voted "No." I'm down with the "fate worse than death" theory.

I just can't see Vic killing himself. I think it's more likely he'd go out shooting and kill himself in a 'suicide via cop/banger/whatever' rather than just straight up blowing his own brains.
I wish I could change my vote now though. After yesterday's episode and, after thinking about it for a while, I think going to Mexico is Vic's fate. In many ways, death was salvation for Lem as his season of going through hell ended a lot quicker and easier than what Vic and Shane are going through right now. Both of them also stand to lose a lot more than Lem had (family) while facing either prison with a lot of enemies or Mexico with all the other people who have fallen and become disgraced. Lem, perhaps as payment for his conscience, got the easy way out.
PS: I am still convinced Ronnie dies so that's why I didn't mention him.

I think Vic dies. But I'd like to him survive in a spinoff with Vic in a prison like Oz. Vic manipulates the different factions in prison to survive and rule behind bars. Then you could have the season of the prison break, another with him on the run. Lots of possibilities, but it won't happen. After this season, they'll be laying The Shield to rest forever in all its tragic glory.

No. Death is too good and would be too predictable of an Ending to the shield. I'd go as far to say it isn't really realistic either. The needle is realistic yeah, but I see a more realistic ending being him either going to prison for life or having nothing left, and having to suffer, maybe Mehico?

No I don't think he'll die . But a part of me believes Vic will get arrested in the final episode , but then just when Claudette thinks she's finaly nailed Vic's hide to the wall so to speak , I think Agent Murray will suddenly show up and spring both Vic and Ronnie , using the full weight of the federal government to have all charges dropped and that both Vic and Ronnie will both walk away with new jobs working for ICE , while Claudette stews in her own juices seeing Vic Mackey ...... Getting away with murder !!!!!!!! .... Just my guess !

It makes sense on a note that one of the 'screeners' said they felt in the last scene of the finale. **EDIT** and no, I don't mean makes sense in that's how the 'screener' said it'd go down, but it is how they said it made them emote.

I voted no. I can't see Vic dying. I can see other characters dying, but not Vic. I'm sure whatever happens its gonna make Vic wish he were dead. So yeah the fate worse than death theory works for me.

Hi Jophus , That's just my best guess as t how I think this will all end . Somehow I believe Vic and Ronnie , maybeeeeeeeee even Shane , will all be arrested and Claudette will be struuting her stuff like she's the " Cock of The Walk " , when suddenly Agent Murray will drop a final bomb on her by producing the neccessary documents to kick Vic & Ronnie loose with their very own " Get Out Of Jail Free " cards , along with " Fed Badges " and all charges dropped and granted full immunity from prosecution . Wyms will be seen just boiling mad and Vic will give her that same face he gave Aceveda on day 1 .... " Well maybe in your own mind Amigo , But I don't answer to you , not today , not tomorrow , Not even on Cinco De Mayo !! .. " I've just got this gut feeling that Vic Mackey's going to walk out of this situation he's in scotfree !!! I just don't see him being a " Lifer " like Ronnie says . Frank
