(copied from theshieldfix):
A friend and I started a Yahoo! fangroup for The Shield within an hour after it aired for the very first time, on March 13, 2002. My partner later discovered that Shawn Ryan signed up to our group.
We exchanged a few messages with Mr. Ryan and I was able to visit the set of the show a couple of times. I first went in 2002 (the summer after it's first season). The set was closed for rennovation but I was lucky enough to have lunch with the writing staff.
I also went this past summer and got a personal tour of the set, as well as the opportunity to again chat with the writing crew and meet Mr. Ryan for the first time. Everyone associated with the show has always been very friendly and hospitable.
I started this site because I thought it would be more fun to have a multithreaded site (unlike Yahoo! groups), where a broader range of topics can be discussed, especially during the offseason or between episodes.
This site is a hobby for me. I will work on it as time permits. Meanwhile, I hope we can get a critical mass of good people and the site can take off on its own!

Theshieldfix is still alive at probards--I guess we can consider it our "museum." I just went there as a guest and didn't see any pics of my visit to the set in '04--hmmm. Then I signed is as admin and still didn't see them. Maybe I removed them or never got around to posting them--they are still at my former Yahoo groups site, "theshield-talk." I don't recommend that site, though. The new admin abandoned it several months ago and it's like the wild, wild west now--or maybe a cesspool is a more fitting description: blatant flaming, racist comments, peeps posting ads, etc. Long story as to what happened there--I even reported it to the Yahoo brass but they don't seem to care. I've heard that a group owner or admin can be dead and Yahoo STILL won't remove them! E throws a life jacket out to those poor souls every once in a while (a link to The Rap) and we've rescued a few of them that way. Anyway, here's a link to theshieldfix, if anyone enjoys a little nostalgia: shieldfix.proboards41.com/index.cgip.s. btw, jwc, some of the threads in "this 'n that" at the Fix had 31 replies!

It's like a striped down version of TheShieldRap. I thought it was kinda funny that it said "Welcom to Our newst member escutcheon"
and that Yahoo one was alot diffrent. I only read a few post but mackey4me or whatever the name was doesn't seem to like us very much.
Either way it's cool they still have those up. Us young members can see what TheSheildRap was before it was TheShieldRap.

HA! I just recently copied all the codes from here to there (shieldfix) so we'd have a back up of sorts..... I didn't do the buttons or avatars, though.... that's kinda tedious. If you want to see what a proboards forum looks like "nekkid" check out this one: escutcheon.proboards51.com No codes, no graphics.... all default settings. I use that one to test codes and things.... my April Fool's Day joke is still up. Chem didn't appreciate it, so I took it out of here after about 3 hours. Did anyone (besides chem) even see that here at the time?
