Here's some more good news from the folks at TVShowsOnDVD: www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Shield-Season-6/9859Looks like late August folks-and a good week to catch up with everything before the final (sniff) season starts. Details of extras are included as well. Not much but better than I expected considering (the writer's strike and all). Enjoy. Oh, and that is still a badass cover.

Those are the same extras the region 2 versions have, they're very good and about a half an hour long for the 3 documentary's each

Ugh, widescreen. Could they sell the season 6 DVDs with the show the same way it is broadcast?? This is why I'll never part with my "old" versions of S1-S5...

Ugh, widescreen. Could they sell the season 6 DVDs with the show the same way it is broadcast?? This is why I'll never part with my "old" versions of S1-S5... I'm loving the new widescreen releases. The show is filmed that way, even if Shawn Ryan prefers the 4:3 television presentation. Since I've dumped my OG sets for the new ones, everything matches fine. However, there is something to be said for consistency. You'd think there'd be a fullscreen version available for the majority of people sticking with the original sets.... Since Sony is now in charge & Fox is out of the loop with the DVD distribution, it's very unlikely.

:oThey're gonna be asking $60 for it?? There were only 10 freakin' episodes!!! edit'The Shield' is my all-time favorite show, hands down, but with the yearly breaks between seasons, the gradually shrinking episodes per season, and the over-board costs for each when they do finally come out on dvd, the fact that this coming season will be the last is kind of a relief.

Amazon usually has it cheaper.... or go just rent from netflix/blockbuster/red box etc....
When the prices go down I'll buy it.... I assume the price increase is due to oil prices, right? (Sarcasm)

^ Everything can be attributed to the increase in oil except our salaries. I bought S5 shortly after it was released and will likely buy S6 the same way. I'll gladly pay the extra for DVDs of my fav shows.

I am going to wait for a used set on Amazon or something, I love the show but $60 is too much for 10 episodes. When you're a college student with no J-O-B you have to make those type of decisions OMG I can't wait for S6!!!!

Best Buy is a little more expensive but it you don't like to use Amazon, here's another place. I like Amazon, order from it all the time. I just clicked on the ST4L's Amazon link above and the price has gone down to $37.99 (with FREE shipping). Plus, there is a video of a short interview with Shawn Ryan (with comment from Walton). You can preorder with a price guarantee (if the price goes down again, you get it for the lower price). I doubt the price will go down before the availability date given by Amazon, which is Aug. 26--that's Tuesday, baby!!.

Looks like Best Buy has the best in store price at the moment, at $37.99.
I think I'm going to Circuit City and price matching it, simply because Target is directly next door and I gotta pick up diapers, haha!
