The last episode was anti-climactic. Did I spell that right? I don't like seeing Vic so desperate. But finding an alternate ending is challenging to my writer's instinct's. I'll be back.

pusillanimous(pyū'sə-lăn'ə-məs)adj. cowardly, or lacking courage. I had never heard such a word. I couldn't help but wonder if the epithet "pussy!" denegrating a cowardly person, nearly always a man, could have been derived from pusillanimous? Nah, I doubt it.

A TV critic, whose name I forget, gave a really good analysis of season 6. Essentially, he said that the first 6 episodes basically functioned as the final 6 episodes of season 5, and that the final season began with episodes 7-10. It makes sense. Everything following Shane coming clean to Vic seems like the beginning of a whole new story. In that light, it makes sense that the finale was anti-climactic because the climax occured four episodes earlier.

I thought the same thing, chem. Hmmm ... which of the following applies: "great minds think alike" or "I guess that makes you as weird as I"? I'll go with the former and I bet you agree!

Are we talking SERIES finale or S6 finale? Cuz SERIES finale is gonna go down like this, I have been saying and wanting this finale since I watched S01E01:
Vic dies.
It is the ONLY true way to keep this show honest; Vic has always been a self-proclaimed martyr, looking out for the interests of those he loves, while also feeling guilty for his wrong doings. This paradox will force Vic into a situation (or into one he places himself?) that will ultimately lead to his demise.

God, I wish I had an answer for this one, but I draw a blank. I wasn't too pleased with the finale myself, to be honest. I liked the hell out of 6x09, but 6x10 was anti-climactic, I think. I don't know how I would've ended it. Good question, looking forward to responses. its like season 4's finale, but its settin up for a big and wild ending probably though =)

Here's my "FINALE" a plot-twist: Ronnie is an FBI Agent who's been aftering Vic & Shane for years, Vic & Shane team-up to found some thing on Ronnie to take him down, Shane found out that the real RONNIE GARDDOCKI was killed 8 years ago, the Fake Roinne was never was a Cop or a FBI Agent, Now Vic got every cops in the barn looking for the Fake Ronnie and Dutch discovers the fake Ronnie is a Serial Killer. This will be a great 2-Hour Series Finale.

You know, real life sometimes doesn't come full circle.
Sometimes, the criminals get away.

Hi guys, dont post often. I just want to say, I loved the season 6 finale. Its sad to learn so many people didn't. I thought it was brilliant, subtle and so on the cusp something huge. I really just want it to be known that some people, like me, found it to be one of the finest episodes in the series. The drama was so deftly written, the tension so understated. The restraint they showed was the reason why the Shield is what it is. It makes the crazy parts crazier. I don't understand why one could be unhappy with that finale.

^ Well stated, and I agree. For the SERIES finale, I see Vic lying on the ground in some dank alley with a gunshot in his forehead... and Shane and Ronnie standing over him... the musical montage starts with scenes of Vic with his family, lots of clips of good times in the middle, and it ends with the last time he saw Lem - or with Terry or Connie's deaths.... Then a last shot of Vic as his eyes close forever... Fade to black. Silence during the credits. I'm always rooting for them all to escape to Mexico with tons of cash, though.

Shane has to die, Vic has to retire (on his terms) and Ronnie becomes Captain or something. I will be so So dissappointed if Vic Dies or goes to Jail. Life does NOT have to come full circle!!!!!! The allure of this show was "good" guys doing bad things, and getting away with it.

There's a lot of discussion about Vic needing to pay, but honestly Vic has been paying along, what with losing his wife, literally losing Lem, losing his relationship with Shane, apparently about to lose his job... the list is extensive and is all tied back to Vic's actions. About the only thing he can really lose at this point is his family (death) or his own life. Judging from the Shield's ability to throw us a good curveball, I wouldn't be surprised if it is Shane that ends of getting away in the end, rather than him having to die as I have read (called for) repeatedly.

I'd lean toward Ronnie being the one who ends up getting away with the most, but that would be too predictable.

E, I can't remember ... did we set up a poll for how we think the show will end? Find out. If not, we need to. Get busy. edit: just checked and we DO have a poll (also in S07 board) ... in fact, I created the poll (shhhh ... don't tell anyone; too embarassing). Here are the current votes: if you haven't already, GO VOTE! He will go to prison [***********] (7 votes, 28%) He will be killed by a ST member [***] (2 votes, 8%) He will be killed by a cop who is not in the ST [ ] (0 votes, 0%) Vic will be killed by a former lover. [ ] (0 votes, 0%) Vic will be killed by a gang member. [ ] (0 votes, 0%) Nothing. Vic will kill someone else and survive [*****************] (11 votes, 44%) None of the above [********] (5 votes, 20%)

After re-watching the season via DVR, I wouldn't have changed a thing. I loved it. Not the strongest finale, but a worthy one.
Wasn't it the shows first real 'cliffhanger' finale? I mean, they all do it, but they at least wrap up the main season story arc.

I've just watched the Cathy Ryan/Autumn Chiklis interviews on the FX site and all I can think is to keep an eye out for Cassidy this last season. We are all looking at the obvious main characters to be the last ones standing, fact is it could be smaller characters who have been there all along that have the biggest impact.
