yep. definitely the best of the season.
chiklis and goggins are mind-explodingly great.
that last scene is already one of the best scenes in shield history.

This show was flat out the best and the momentum is building. The plot thickens. Classic Vic with a full plate, wheeling and dealing. This is the Vic we have been waiting on. The end scene was the best between Shane and Vic since the season 3 closer. I also loved what Vic said to Julian after the interrogation. After they come out of the womb, God stops playing favorites, or something like that, I am not sure, this ep has me all jacked up. Best Shield show in a long time.

the last scene with chiklis and goggins should be what is submitted for emmy consideration. Best episode of the season by far. Goggins has never been so intense as he has been at the ends of this episode and last weeks. Next tuesday can't come soon enough, just have to wait for the riches to be over so I can rewatch this episode. I hate FX for making us wait an hour to rewatch The Shield. I just hope that Shawn Ryan and FX when The Shield wraps up next year gives The Shield a proper 2 hour series finale. If any show deserves a movie length finale it is The Shield

I also loved what Vic said to Julian after the interrogation. After they come out of the womb, God stops playing favorites, or something like that, I am not sure, "God creates all men equal, but once they get out of the womb he starts playing favorites." Fantastic episode. A all the way.

An easy A. Ronnie looked good and I don't know how anyone can show any sympathy for either Shane or Vic after that last scene. Shane's total lack of empathy for what he did to Lem should make anyone's blood run cold. Both storylines were good and it was all killer, no filler. Best episode of the season so far.

Damn, plotlines were poppin out of that ep like kernels out of a bag of Orville Redenbacher's best! What DIDN'T happen? Every freakin' character was involved ... and not just in passing! Whew!

Back to Shield Basics. -Shane and Vic at the end. -Vic's handling of Gurado's g/f and Dutch and Claudette. -Vic manipulating the situation with the 2 dealers so the girls family wouldn't get embarrassed. Thus laying the ground work for him to keep his job. -Just the right amount of Vic and family time. -Dutch falling all the way off the cool ladder now that Tina looks to be Hyatt's new piece of ass.
More later..time for the re-run.

When Vic took Nadia as bait for Guardo I thought it was amazingly clumsy...but I'm so naive. Vic can bullshit his way out of ANYTHING, and had no doubt already rehearsed what he would say if Nadia popped up again. Of course Dutch and Claudette know it was bogus, but there's not a thing they can pin on him.
I liked the way Dutch hesitated to hand over Lem's file. At first I thought it was (well-founded) mistrust of Vic, but it was empathy for how it would feel to look at those grotesque images of someone you cared for so much. This is what makes Dutch loveable - regardless of what past history he has with a person, Dutch's first response is to be considerate. His second impulse may be wickedly vindictive as Billings can attest, but the moment before he handed Vic the files was like the moment at Lem's death scene when he said so gently, "Vic, you can't touch anything." Dutch could so easily be a caricature, but Karnes is much better than that.
Vic certainly turned the homicide case to his advantage. His interrogation of the PTA junkie was disturbingly well-done. Interesting how Julian started to walk out, then stood in the doorway. Observing, and ready to run to Claudette? Or blocking the view from passersby?
You notice when Vic and Hiatt charged in that house, Hiatt was a half-step behind? A cautious man, lol.
For the first time I count one of Cassidy's lines as really noteworthy: "He looked you up on Lexis and I saw all the shit you did!" Hee! It totally sucks to get busted by your own kid. ::)Danny was very gracious about introducing her to Lee, and at least Cassidy was polite to Danny...but the look she gave her dad while she counted back from Lee's birthday was SCORCHING. Wouldn't you love to see the between scenes moments? "Honey, remember the way you looked at me the last time I grounded you? Do that look." I wonder how much of the finished show she's allowed to watch now that she's growing up? In Season 1 she was only allowed to view the scenes she was in.
The final confrontation between Shane and Vic was as violent as anything can be with no physical contact. Shane would say something completely on-target about Vic's misdeeds...and then he'd follow it with something absurd and childish like, "You're gonna learn to be okay with it." That indiscriminate mix of wisdom and idiocy is classic Shane Vendrell. You could see Vic turning it over in his mind, asking himself several times what he would have done and each time deciding he wouldn't have...probably...almost certainly. And this wasn't like shooting Terry, no, no, not at all. Yeah, you keep telling yourself that Vic.
Everybody did a bang-up job on this episode. The skels were as skeevy as could be, Vic was slick, Shane was insane, and even Cassidy got to be righteous for the right reasons. I gave it an A.

Vic had quite possibly the most ironic/hypocritical line in the show's history in during his confrontation with Shane when he says, "Jesus Christ! What did you turn me into?" Ahem...What did Shane turn Vic into?

My jaw dropped in this episode. The best episode of this season and one of the best TS episodes of all-time. Storylines reaching their climax, skeletons coming out of the closet, and just ridiculous performances by Chiklis and Goggins. I don't even know where to begin so I won't even try right now. Just amazing. I love this effin' show.

Echoing everyone else's sentiments, I also thought this episode was nothing short of amazing. Like mackdaddy posted above: a classic Vic Mackey, playing all the angles at once. This is the Vic we've come to love and root for, folks!!
The episode also featured one of the best Shield lines ever: "God creates all men equal, but once they get out of the womb he starts playing favorites."
My only (very slight) complaint involves the final Vic and Shane scene. I thought that Vic using the argument of Shane acting alone was just plain stupid, considering the number of times Vic has done stuff without previously informing the others. I imagine that Vic's main issue is (or should be) with what Shane actually did, not if he consulted with the others or not.

If it's possible to give 3 A's,that's my vote. The last 10 minutes of this episode quite easily was the best 10 minutes of this show,EVER.
The exchange between Shane & Vic was a masterpiece & perfectly done. Between the bringing up the past from Terry, to Vic reminding Shane that he pulled a gun on him before, and it wrapping with Vic telling Shane he'll kill him if he sees him again, was a classic.
2 thumbs all the way up!
