"nude skeletons in her closet" E, only *you* would think to say it that way!
And, yes, that does make sense considering Tina's reactions in the pornography storyline. She might have done something like this to pay bills before she got the job as a police officer. I can't recall--was Dutch picking up on her reactions at all?
You can't do that sort of thing and not have it catch up to you! I hope it does, or my suggestion does, because I'd like to see Tina out of there. As much as I'd like to see Ronnie get laid (a little flesh, please!!)--I think Tina is a waste of money on that set. Let's get back to some serious Danny action! And where the hell is Julien?

I believe that "Back to One" is a filmmaker's phrase --it means everybody back to position 1 for a re-shoot. Any filmmakers on the Rap can correct me.
But in this case is also could mean "Back to Season 1". Which in a lot of cases, it kind of is. You have a new captain trying to make a quick impression with some drastically reduced (or manipluated) crime stats; you have the Strike Team trying to kick ass with a captain they don't like and a new member who isn't quite with the program and wants Vic's job; you have Dutch trying to score with a young female officer who may have eyes for a member of the Strike Team --sound familiar, anyone?

dtpollitt/dan, Take a look at the scene right after Guardo drops the money in the trash can, because I think that single scene exemplifies what we've been seeing from Vic ever since Season 6 started. After Guardo drops the cash, Shane comes up to Vic's car and they have a conversation. Vic is watching Guardo intently the entire time. He never takes his eyes off him until Shane closes the door to leave. Point is, Vic's not even looking at Shane.I think it's incomprehensible to Vic that Shane could be behind it so he isn't even on a mental list of suspects. He's blinded by the easy target Guardo, and he's fixated on him. I agree with eekay, once Vic's mind clears, Shane is in trouble. I like your thinking, Inside Straight, and it's been too long since we have discussed on TSR! You bring up a good point; Vic is so tunnel-visioned right now that he can't possibly think that his best buddy could do the ONE thing he himself did, right?
I'm still thinking in the next week or two Shane gives it up. We will see, I'm spoiler free and like it that way. It'll be interesting to see how Vic takes Lem's killing now that his "killer" is gone...what's his perspective going to be?

Great parallels there.

dan/dtpollitt, yeah it's been a while. Good times... *sigh*
Shane really has to watch his back. Setting that picture facedown was not a good way to start. I think Vic noticed it, but chalked it up to grief.

A mixed bag of an episode.
B
I would give the Vic-gets-a-hold-of-Guardo story an A and the Ronnie-tags-along-with-Dutch-and-Billings story a C, so the episode evens out at a B. Compared to the previous two episodes, it's just not quite there in terms of theme, even if it does see a long-awaited moment (Vic's murdering of Guardo) go down in dramatic fashion.
Got to disagree with dtpollitt--only *now*, that Vic has finally finished his own source of healing (or so he thinks--obviously he's wrong) can he even consider any other possibility. Great job on the part of the writers to make Vic's tunnel-vision palpable and realistic.

There's really nothing I can add that hasn't already been said, but I just wanted to comment on the whole Guardo thingy. Does anyone think it would have been pretty neat if Guardo had actually confessed to Lem's murder (and maybe even threw it in Vic's face)? I mean, he is already being beaten to death (even without the bullet to the head, he has about an hour max before he dies from that beating and blood loss, trust me) so why not? I thought that would have been great, and then Vic's gunshot to his head would have been a way of "finishing" the whole ordeal since Vic would be convinced that Lem's killer really had been put to rest. And this would have even made for a bigger shock in 3x05 when Vic found out Guardo wasn't the killer.

"I want everyone who had a hand in this to suffer" -Shane to Vic
Another example of lines that will never sound the same after the series finale.... Yeah Mara didn't have a hand in the process, but when she found out she became an accomplance!
