From TV Guide: Vic enlists Emolia---with Kavanaugh's grudging assent---to infiltrate a Salvadoran gang that has grenades in its arsenal. Meanwhile, Kavanaugh tries to enlist the imprisoned Antwon Mitchell to rat out Vic. And Dutch offers information about Vic to Kavanaugh, who also has a criminal matter involving his ex-wife to worry about. Dutch is involved with that, too.
From FX : As Kavanaugh deals with the emotional circumstances surrounding the return of his ex-wife, his obsession to take down the Strike Team comes to a head and he forges an unlikely alliance with Antwon Mitchell. =========================================================== Ratings for last week's ep, 5:07 "Man Inside" (as of today):A - 14 B - 17 C - 2 D - 0 F - 0 [/blockquote] Did you like this episode? Nice treat giving us the private side of our antagonist. And surprising reaction to Antwon's demands.
A smart episode.
Extra props to Director of Photography Rohn Scmidt on bringing Dutch into focus when he gets Kav's attention. A perfect move.
Lem saved Kav's life - excellent. And the buildup to Kav's blow-up.... been a long time since I've been on the edge of my seat for this show.

This was an A+ episode. Kavanaugh is totally unhinged. Thought I hated him before, its worse now. This guy deserves to go down hard! Wonder what Vic will do. Lem's gonna get it bad in the same jail as Mitchell. This will be Kav's undoing, watch. The rest of the season is going to be stellar just based on this. I hate Kavanaugh!

Well just shows How big Kavs weakness is with his ex. To blow up like that just because they saw the interigation room. Looks like a bad cop turned bad for Kav. remind us of anyone. The ends justify the means? Kav is more like Vic than he lets on, making a deal with Antwon.
I give it an A- maybe a B+, but since that is not a choice I will give it an A this week.

I have a feeling that they might. Poor Lem.
Those last few minutes had high levels of Goddamn-itude.
And Antwon was hilarious. To me. I know he didn't intend to be, but his first few lines cracked me up.
"What is it you think I don't get in here? Pussy? I tore some of that shit up this morning, and I ain't talkin' about the cell mate kind."
I would have spilled my water when he called Shane a "banjo-playing a**hole," but I had no water.

BOOM! Great ep - A from E again..... My initial thoughts: Corrine, dammit!! First, could you have hired a bigger dumbass? Second, you should always get the deal in writing BEFORE you give the police evidence that will land you in jail for tax fraud. Duuuuuu. Holy f*cking shit... Lem was arrested right out of The Barn?! AND PUT IN THE CAGE?! That was insane. Man, Kav and Vic's stare-down was madness. Whitaker is amazing - I've never hated to love an actor in a role I love to hate before. He's THAT GOOD! Sadie is a whackjob. If this ep was supposed to make my heart bleed for poor Kavvy's love life it failed. Superb acting, though, all around! Gina Torres was smokin hot.... the writing was dead on..... loved everything but, ummm, hello? HOW IS CLAUDETTE?! Title Analysis on Kavanaugh: He was in every damn scene! Most memorable moment: Lem's arrest! Extra props to Director of Photography Rohn Scmidt on bringing Dutch into focus when he gets Kav's attention. A perfect move. I noticed that too, EK - brilliant camerawork and direction; YES!! More to follow I'm sure....

Did anyone else notice FX had a commercial advertising the "season finale" in 3 weeks. I thought it was suppose to be all ONE season? So is it season 5 and 6 or is FX Just pulling some crap to promote it. Thsi whole season 5 in 2 parts is bull shit.

I give it a B. They tried something new with this episode, and I thought they got off to a slighly awkward start. However, after about the first fifteen minutes, the show really picked up. However, this episode did a great job at illustrating the similarities and differences between Vic and Kavanaugh. Kavanaugh even when faced with his wife refused to bend the rules, but he, like Mackey, was willing to bend the rules when it meant getting someone, he perceived as scum off the street. That said, I was doing homework for the first half of this episode, so I may have been distracted during the first section.
Also, although it was very irresponsible of Kavanaugh to lock Lem in the cage like that, Vic and Lem did it to themselves. They were eavesdropping in on the guy during one of his weakest most intimate moments, and they got caught red-handed. Kavanaugh blowing his gasket was entirely realistic and, dare I say, understandable.

Best episode of the season and very quickly number 2 or 3 on my top episode list of all time. What a concept to look from Kavanaugh's perspective, genius.
Gina Torres as Sadie was a brilliant cast; formerly from The Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions as Cas, Link's (Harold Perrineau from LOST) wife. Also, more commonly known as Zoe from FIREFLY/SERENITY fandom. Great damn show!!! RECOMMENDED!! Not to mention she was Julia Milliken in 24.
CLAUDETTE'S ALIVE!!
This was truly the episode we needed, were waiting for, the calm (somewhat) before the storm and fury of the last three episodes, which from prior Shield history, are going to be bigger than any array of grenades in that warehouse.
Brilliant episode, brilliant season, Kavanaugh is a f*cking genius and I absolutely love him.

To be honest i wasnt really into this episode, that is untill the last 2-4 minutes, when when Kavanaugh relived there was a camera in the room and caught Vic and Lem watching him.
I wasn't much into it becuase to me the grenade story line was like the MP5 issue from season three, so i just didnt find it all that interesting, but man when Kav came rushing out that door and arrested Lem I about shit my pant.....that was one one the most intense scenes in a long while.
Also glad to see Antwon is back i love Anthony Anderson(as an actor ) But with Lem in jail and the episode being name Of Mice and Lem in two weeks I am starting to fear he may not be comming out of that jail alive.

The only thing I didn't like about this ep is Dutch giving up the Money Train info, or agreeing to.
I know it fits his character and everything. I just didn't like it.

What kinda info can Dutch have? Nothing, all he has is the ST could not catch anyone, and then all the sudden they could round up a bunch of armenians. He gave all his info to Aceveda and he couldn't come up with squat.
Dutch just has a gut feeling and no proof! Dutch aint got sh$t

anpther fine episode, I rated this one and A just because of the way they arrested Lem at the end. Powerful drama, If Vic sees Kav in a dark alley Kav should just stick his head between his legs and kiss his ass good bye. Vic would blow him away just as if he was stepping on a roach. The look Vic gave Kav was a look that could kill. Also good luck to Kav trying to find the money from the money train. All but about $200,000 went up in smoke and none of the money that was left was the marked money.

cops placed in jail are kept away from the rest of the population for safety reasons hopefully the shield doesnt make a dumb mistake & go against this Now, what fun would that be?? This is a television DRAMA; not a reality show (and thank God for that!)..... Antwon was hilarious. To me. I know he didn't intend to be, but his first few lines cracked me up. Antwon always creeps me out a bit..... So, is he running the 1-9ers from jail? Was it Halpern or Weed that took over on the street at the end of S4? What about Kern? Did he give up the 1-9ers for good or just for his tour? Is he still on tour? Last I heard he was in Czechoslovakia... something about whores, caviar, and nipples...

One nomination for 5.08 best line: Vic: Ahh, there's nothing like a large black man in a suit jumping into your van to maintain your cover. It's a mouthful, but I got a good chuckle out of it.

cops placed in jail are kept away from the rest of the population for safety reasons hopefully the shield doesnt make a dumb mistake & go against this Now, what fun would that be?? This is a television DRAMA; not a reality show (and thank God for that!)..... Oh yeah...I wanna see Lem be some monster black guy's glacier bitch! Poor Lem. He looked so scared. Vic and the boys are going to come back with fury we've never seen before on this one. They truly have the dynamics of brothers... fighting, bickering, aiming guns at each other, threatening to brain each other over millions of flammable dollars, and now angry and hurting for one of their own. And the love that surpasses all of the crap. What a set up for the front 11/pre-back 10 finale!
I was around a little last night, checking out the activity and caught a glimpse of someone's remark about Kav's "nutty wife." Damn it! Totally ruined the experience of watching her character and seeing if I doubted her right off. (my own fault, of course) As it was, I knew ahead of time she was lying. See, that's why I hate spoilers (though this wasn't an official spoiler). They ruin the opportunity to experience my own first impressions. THEN, I watch the ep again to check out details, etc. I've just never understood why some fans are so in love with spoilers...

A quick mention:
When Vic and Lem were watching Kavanaugh in the interrogation room, did you notice the way Lem looked at Vic when he said, "At least now we've found his weak spot"? Damn!

awesome episode. AWESOME. i loved it.
couple of things:
-it would suck to threaten lem with general population crap based on what we've heard before about cops not going there. if the mafia can get special treatment, you know former cops can, no matter what the circumstances of their arrest.
-i was on the edge of my seat when kavanaugh slowly realized the irony of Sadie's statement..."they can see me...they can all see me...". i figured vic & lem would get away w/ it the way they did when aceveda & the treasury guy were interrogating the armenian money train suspect. nice twist to have kavanaugh catch them w/ their hands in the cookie jar! although you'd figure they had no chance to get away despite what i mentioned above, so vic & lem should have turned off the TV & played it cool as if they had just arrived in the room and hadn't overheard anything - as unbelievable as that might have been, it was better than the risky alternative.
-antwon...gotta love antwon...i hope we see more of him. the last three ep's should rule. when will the last 10 episodes air - later this year or next year?
-i liked the fact that it started out with something different - Kav getting ready for work, going through his routine.
-very interested to see what they do w/ claudette's character next week.
