In the season finale, Claudette was hellbent on keeping her daughter from testifying in her father's shooting.
In the season premiere, Dutch interviews the little girl whose brother was killed by Armadillo without her family's permission. Claudette makes a big deal about it and says to Dutch, "If you had kids you'd understand."
Just some nice foreshadowing/consistency I never noticed before.

I didn't think it was any on purpose foreshadowing, but I can tell you that testifying in court can be very trying. Defense attorney's are like sharks.......they smell blood or see any sign of weakness, they go for the kill and it doesn't matter who is on that stand. Probably just some parental instinct kickin in.

Yeah, I understood that right away. Having kids myself I know I wouldn't want either one of them testifying in court unless the crime was against THEM. Then I would be hellbent on them going through with it!

Probably just some parental instinct kickin in. I cannot think of any better way to express it. Teaching young tadpoles evidence theory, if I see them hemming or hawing if I ask a question, I'm ruthless. I've made made many of them mad on a personal level. All of the ones that didn't quit my program came back and thanked me for my treatment of them.

Then I would be hellbent on them going through with it! You know, I completely disagree. Of course, you are entitled to your opionion and actions. We all do what we think is right. My attitude, after a moment that I won't divuldge here, has been..."Come and get me, then, see what you get." Fourtuatly, I got this attitudes before my sons came on the scene. If my sons are witness to a crime, I'd hope they'd testify, and, look scum dead in the eye. I would counsel them to testify, without question. I will say that the dog that chases the cars that are my three boys will be sorry they caught that car. ETA: I did NOT mean to be mean or anything. I tend to be naturally combative towards bullies *Ciminals*, and, teach my boys to be the same way. I did not mean to in any way be critical of anyone who has a differing opinion. i completely understand that.

I think it is a case by case issue. Testifiying against some lowlife scum is one think, testifying against say a head mafioso is another. Common sense should prevail. Is the risk worth the reward? Maybe, maybe not.
